Hauptaufgaben Participates in operation programming and implementation of short and long range plans, overviews the transportation operation of a variety of commodities such as explosives, arms hazardous ammunition, oversize and overweight items, cargo perishables requiring [. .. ] or efficient and effective accomplishment of established program objectives. Screens and studies regulations, directives and procedural issues governing movement operations. Monitors the overall flow of transportation request through the Movement Control System to the transporters. Evaluates weaknesses and inadequacies and renders operational assistance or takes corrective action as determined appropriate. Unresolved issues are raised to key staff to find and implement corrective measures through joint management efforts. Collects, compiles and consolidates all statistical data relevant for the Traffic Management Reporting structure, as required by related regulations and higher headquarters guidance. Evaluates such data and determines trends and workload fluctuations for discussion and decision on shifting manpower commensurate with these fluctuations. Maintain productivity and mission related historical data to evaluate Air Terminal Movement Control Team performance. Provides customs clearance [. .. ] C-06. The incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to the next higher or full performance level in accordance with regulatory requirements, upon completion of required training, and recommendation of supervisor. Due to the temporary duration of the appointment selectee may not be able to reach the full performance level before expiration or termination of the appointment. Hauptaufgaben As a senior flight advisor employed on category II airfields (e. g. Mannheim-Coleman Barracks, Giebelstadt, Wiesbaden, Grafenwoehr) performs work relative to processing data concerning safe airfield operation, air traffic movement and performing other duties requiring equivalent knowledge and skills. Provides pilot briefings and assists pilots with flight planning based on knowledge of DOD, USAREUR, and host nation aeronautical rules and regulations, airway routes and clearance requirements, structures, air traffic procedures, weather, and navigational aids. Based on this knowledge, incumbent [. .. ] Flight Operations Detachment (AFOD) . Provides airfield advisory and flight following services to include airfield conditions and current weather observation before and during flight to aircraft when the air traffic control tower is closed. Posts, maintains, updates and disseminates a variety of flight planning material including charts, maps, DOD flight information publications, FAA handbooks, host-nation publications, hazard maps, NOTAM s and other publications required for flight planning and operations. Maintains operating instructions, quick reaction checklists, logs, and similar papers to [. .. ] are illuminated. Report any new obstructions to flight area. Submits work orders for any discrepancies found during the airfield inspection, submits NOTAM as required, and reports results of inspection to supervisor. Evaluates runway and reports results to AFOD, and enters results in airfield log. f. Administrative. Conducts or receives shift briefing. Maintains the Airfield Log documenting at minimum, shift changes, openings and closings, personnel working on the airfield (grass cutters, etc) ; issue, revision, and cancellation of NOTAMs; airfield inspections; runway [. .. ]
