The main purpose of the LNS is to develop analytical activities and scientific expertise relating to the prevention, diagnosis and monitoring of human diseases; to act as a national control or reference laboratory; and to carry out forensic missions. The LNS also collaborates with the University of Luxembourg and other biomedical research institutions, both nationally and internationally, on research and teaching activities. In particular, in the field of diagnostics, the LNS covers the following fields of application : medical biology, microbiology, forensic medicine, environmental medicine, morphological and molecular pathology, and clinical genetics, as well as sequencing for rare diseases, oncology and pathogens. ABOUT THE NATIONAL CENTER OF GENETICS (NCG) The National Center of Genetics (NCG) , at the LNS, is responsible for human genetic care in Luxembourg and is divided into three departments [. .. ] operational and financial oversight of the service, ensuring efficiency and alignment with institutional goals; Supervise and support a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, psychologists, and counselors; Instruct and supervise doctors in specialist training for genetics; Provide expert genetic consultations across a broad spectrum of conditions, including rare diseases and hereditary cancers; Ensure compliance with our quality management system and maintain high standards of clinical service delivery; Review and medically validate genetic laboratory test results; Contribute to the implementation of new diagnostic methods [. .. ]
