The main task for this position is to coordinate the operation SUNDAE2 in collaboration with other colleagues from the UNSYS group and DESY technical groups. This includes: Integration, commissioning, and optimization of mechanical, electrical, and motion-control systems of SUNDAE2. Operate, maintain, and further develop the SUNDAE2 Hall probe measurement system for the characterization of superconducting undulators. Specify, procure, and integrate new instrumentation, sensors, and hardware components in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Develop and improve measurement procedures. Design and maintain mechanical and electrical documentation, including 3D models and technical drawings in NX and electrical schemes. Requirements Masters degree or equivalent in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. Experience with precision measurement systems, motion-control systems, sensors, and instrumentation. Knowledge of magnetic measurement techniques, Hall probe systems, or accelerator magnet characterization is highly desirable.
