The focus of your thesis lies in the design and realization of a novel electrolyzer architecture, combined with the development and integration of advanced porous transport layers (PTLs) to push performance and durability toward industrially relevant targets. Be part of change Mechanical design and CAD modeling of a novel electrolyzer cell, including flow fields, sealing concepts, and cell assembly Coating and functionalization of newly developed porous transport layers (PTLs) for AEM and alkaline electrolysis Physicochemical and electrochemical characterization of PTLs, electrodes, and full cell assemblies Operation and benchmarking of the electrolyzer under varying conditions (current density, temperature, electrolyte composition) Data analysis, [. .. ] design Solid background in electrochemistry and/or heterogeneous catalysis Basic knowledge of materials characterization techniques (SEM, XRD, XPS, contact angle, porosimetry) Ideally, prior experience with electrode fabrication, MEA assembly, or fuel cell/ electrolyzer testing, as well as with Python, Origin, or similar tools for data analysis and visualization Hands-on mindset and genuine interest in experimental laboratory work What we offer We are committed to creating an inspiring working environment in which all employees can develop.
